With my first post, I focused upon the idea of violence in sports. My main posits were looking for a link between the violence in sports and the society around the individuals involved. I didn't make it clear that I am also including violence surrounding the sport such as fans and parents that get involved violently. However, I overlooked some other possibilities that should be taken into account. For one, human instinct and aggression should be considered. Natural competitiveness and a short temper can lead to incidents that evolve into violence. Outside factors such as alcohol can lead to altercations that can easily escalate with the lack of judgment that can accompany intoxication. I realize too my statements and ideas are biased, but I hope to delve deeper into the subject and come to a clear conclusion without bias.
New posits:
What, if any, is the causal relationship between individuals involved in violent incidents surrounding sports and the environment that shapes and defines an individual?
What, if any, is the causal relationship between violence inside and outside of sports and the social construction surrounding the game and those involved?

Allright, once I looked at your web sights you posted ( they were very interesting by the way) I understand what violence is in sports (this just shows what a girl I am - to not know automatically!)
I think that your new posits will delve more into the issue which is good but I think the second posit still could be better. I think you are wanting to ask if a stronger tendency for violence in the surrounding society relates to the amount of violence seen in sport player's. If so it might be better to say something like this...
What if any, is the causal relationship between violence in the surrounding society and the amount of violence in sports?
I think that it isn't biased because it could be a lack of violence in the society or lots of violence in the society...therefore you could apply it to every situation.
Also, you talked about human instinct and aggression, natural aggression and short temper, and outside factors in the paragraph above the posits but didn't put them in your posits...Wouldn't that be a good thing to do to flush out the bias in them? Beware though you would have to demonstrate how men have a natural aggression.
EX: What if any is the causal relationship between a person's temper and their tendency toward aggression?
I found your blog to be very interesting as well. I like the way you are approaching the topic on sport violence.
I agree with the previous comment on your posits. They are indeed an improvement from the first set of posits, but like us all, there needs to be a little more work done to them.
Here is an idea for your posit. I hope it is useful:
What, if any, is the casual relationship between the spectators that causes the surrounding environment in sports dangerous and a viewer's temper?
First of all, I love your topic. I am excited to see what you come up with! After reading your revised posits I think they may still be biased because you are automatically assuming that violence is present in sports. Also, you have not defined violence- what is violent to one person may not be to another.
I think what you are really trying to find is the relationship between ones behavior within a sport and factors that may, or may not, influence them. If you just change the word "violence" to "behavior" this will allow you to first show and define what kind of behavior is present or is linked to a certain environment.
For example- "What, if any, is the causal relationship between ones behavior inside and outside of sports and the social construction surrounding the game and those involved." By doing this you are also opening up your posit to the flip side- that a positive environment is linked to positive behavior.
Thanks for all of the comments, they were helpful and allowed me to improved my posits and overall idea a lot. I realize that I still have a lot of bias that needs to be removed. I'm going to replace violence with behavior because then I can both positive and negative effects and compare how the behavior constructed by their environment relates to the behavior that occurs within and around sports.
